This polo scene chess backgammon set is a collector-grade reversible board, hand-painted and finished in France by Pilardi Atelier.

A refined Collector Edition crafted and completed in France by Pilardi Atelier. This unique piece brings together miniature hand-painting and traditional marquetry with a contemporary approach to collectible design. More than a game set, it is an heirloom-worthy object that blends cultural artistry with modern elegance.

Craftsmanship

Around five weeks of meticulous work lie behind this creation. The reversible board—chess on one side, backgammon on the other—is enhanced with miniature hand-painting influenced by classical Persian artistry. Its surface is sealed beneath a crystal-clear resin that provides depth and lasting protection.
The set includes a handcrafted hard case, full chess pieces, and backgammon checkers. Every element is handmade in collaboration with master artisans whose savoir-faire in marquetry and miniature painting has been passed down through generations.
