Part of the Pilardi collector selection, this compact chess and backgammon set brings together the precision of Khatam marquetry and the ornamental richness of Tazhib-inspired painting.

The chess side presents a structured geometric surface framed by turquoise, blue, gold-toned, and Khatam details. The backgammon side reveals a more intimate decorative composition, with ornamental medallions and pointed fields designed for both play and display.

Smaller than the full-size Pilardi boards, this edition offers a more compact way to enter the collection without losing the richness of the craft.

Craftsmanship

The board is made with a combination of Khatam marquetry, Tazhib-inspired hand-painted ornament, and mother-of-pearl details. The Khatam work brings geometric rhythm and precision, while the painted ornament adds colour, movement, and visual softness.

A clear protective resin finish enhances the depth and luminosity of the surface while helping protect the artwork and marquetry over time.

The reversible format offers two playable surfaces: a chess board on one side and a backgammon board on the other. This set includes wooden chess pieces, Khatam backgammon checkers, dice, and a protective hard case with handle and locks.
